Beijing, China - April 16, 2020 - Beijing StarPoint Technology Co., Ltd. (StarPoint) and Texas headquartered ETS-Lindgren jointly announced today the release of a 5G New Radio (NR) mobile device OTA test solution. This solution, based on StarPoint’s 5G communication test set SP9500-CTS and ETS-Lindgren’s AMS series antenna measurement system, provides a reliable OTA test environment for the power and sensitivity testing of 5G devices and chips.

SP9500-CTS is a high-performance and cost-effective 5G communication test set (callbox) developed by StarPoint to meet 5G NR mobile communication testing demands. It is widely used by industry for the purposes of 5G chip and device development, debugging, testing, certification and maintenance. SP9500-CTS is equipped with ultra-high speed baseband processing units, high-density RF modules and a complete 5G protocol stack. Hence, a single SP9500-CTS instrument can support all 5G SA/NSA network architecture options and achieve UE RF characteristics testing that meets the latest 3GPP standards. In addition, based on SP9500-CTS, customers can build 5G UE OTA, EMC, SAR and other test application scenarios.

ETS-Lindgren's AMS Series Antenna Measurement System is a high speed, multi-antenna array test system designed for fully compliant radiated wireless antenna measurements. Specifically, the AMS-8900 system includes a bespoke multi-antenna array ring which houses a dual-polarized antenna system and integrates a switch control box, therefore, is able to fast switch between antennas for high speed testing. Together with ETS-Lindgren's EMQuest EMQ-100 software which enables flexible combinations of each hardware unit and provides a wide range of fully parameterized test methods for measuring basic antenna performance metrics, AMS-8900 system offers a very powerful testing platform as a turnkey solution that supports 5G NR SISO non-standalone (NSA) and standalone (SA) testing.
